What's New for 2003

2002 Geneva Motor Show
Day One                          Day Two
Alfa Romeo Brera
Italiandesign-Giugiaro's Alfa Romeo Brera is the coachbuider's best work in years. while it's dramatic proportions may hint at Giugiaro's classic show Alfas, the Brera is decidedly modern.  The lines are clean, elegant and refined, causing the brera to be the runaway star of the show.  Poeple whant to see cool cars, and the brera is defenitely that, particularly in the way it is executed.  This is the perfect interpretation of the sports car 2+2, one that uses Alfa styling cues extremely well.
Bentley Continental R
The Continental Ris the spiritual and design inspiration for the upcoming mid-size Bentley that will debut later this year.  This is a perfect example of how proportions can change everything.
BMW CS1 Concept
BMW's CS1 Concept is the company's best concept car of the past three years.  The CS1 is essentially a sneak peak of the 1 series that will be coming out in 2004/5, though that car won't be avaible in convertible form (at least initially).
Mercedes Benz CLK & E-Class
These two cars continue the company's recent streak of styling runs. like the current models, a variety of engines will be offered, topped by the AMG version
with a normally aspirated 5.5 liter V8 that puts out 360+ horsepower.  The CLK platform is based on the current C-Class, and rumor has it that without its speed limiter, the AMG version would see close to 190 mph.
Ferrari 575M Maranello
Looking much like it's 550 predecessor, the real changes to the ferrari's front-engine flagship are hidden under the inside the skin.  The interior has been completely redesign, the dash is now dominated by a large tachometer and the car is now fitted with the F1 paddle shift transmission.  the V12's displacement has been bumped to 5.75 liters, and horse power is now listed at 508. this helpes the car clear 200 mph.
Hispano Suiza
The Hispano Suiza is made by Spain's MAZEL Group, a firm specializing in design, engineering and tooling.  What is unfortunate is how outside the flying stork logo on the car's side, this Hispano has nothing in common with with the elegant originals that where built in Spain and France up into the late 1930's. No design elements show any type of family lineage, the proportions are off and the roofline is too high.
Koenigsegg CCV8
The Koenigsegg CCV8 is another entrant in the "performance from faraway lands" sweepstakes. made in sweeden and powered by a 655 horsepower supercharged Ford V8, the company quotes 0-60 in 3.4 sec. the 1/4 mile in 10 sec. and a top speed of nearly 250 mph.  The exterior shape is intriguing, unimaginative interior less so a clear giveaway that this car falls short of class leader Pagani in terms of design and execution
Laraki Fulgura
The Fulgura is the work of Lakari Design, an engineering and prototyping concern from Casablanca  Morocco.  The car's overall silhouette is pleasant but not earth shattering.  the running prototype uses a Lamborghini V12
